Under the Knife

Tomorrow, bright and early, I’m getting the two-for-one special at Providence Hospital. I’ll be on the DL for the next several days. The surgeries aren’t major but they’re enough that some convalescence time will be required. Unfortunately, the whole convalescing thing will be a bit of a challenge. The first part of the surgery involves removing spinal implants located in my lumbar region and a control unit located on the right side of my rear end. The second half is an exploratory abdominal laproscopy. The only strips of slatrat real estate that won’t have been cut on are my sides. I”m thinking that this is why drugs were invented.

UPDATE: I just spent 10 minutes painstakingly removing my most fabulous red fingernail polish. Saturday evening was the Concert Association Gala and I got all glammed up, including both a pedicure and a manicure. And the manicure was holding up quite well - two days later and no chips! But alas, no fingernail polish allowed on surgical patients. Wah…

What, no pics from the Concert Association Gala? Here’s hoping that you get off the DL soon and back in action for the Wool Sox.

  2. Frankie responds:

I’ll be thinking about you and hoping for a speedy recovery!
