Big Fire

This afternoon, we had a long distance, but bird’s eye view of a massive fire at the Park Place Condominiums in downtown Anchorage. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fire that big in Anchorage. From our vantage point, over a mile away, we could see flames shooting into the sky.

Because the fire occurred during the day, my bet is very few people were at home. However, I’m worried about the pets. Park Place is directly across the street from everyone’s favorite market and coffee place, Sagaya City Market. Folks would walk across the street from Park Place to City Market and have coffee with their dogs. So, I know a number of Park Place poochies. I hope they made it out. The breaking news reports indicate that firemen went door-to-door in the complex getting folks out. This is why I have decals on my front and back doors indicating that there are pets in the building.
