The Sopranos - Huh?

I admit that Peter and I have been out of Sopranos action for the past two years. I sort of kept up vicariously. I knew when major characters such Adrianna and Christopher were whacked. But I was totally out of the loop on week to week doings.

However, I decided that I should absolutely watch the last episode. And I did. And Huh? The ending was so - blank. I thought that because I was no longer a regular viewer that perhaps the ending had greater meaning for regular viewers. But, judging from this morning’s news and blog chatter, the ending had no meaning for anyone. Other than perhaps the Sopranos franchise moving to the big screen. Which, obviously, would be a total sellout.

The ending did have meaning, I swear it did!

A couple of episodes back, Tony was sitting in a boat with Bobby and they were talking about death…Tony said that he thinks when you die, everything just goes black.

So, the abrupt ending in my mind was Tony dying…everything went black for him!

(Someone else pointed out the symbolism of Tony and Bobby being in “the same boat” too…as in, both bought the farm.)
