Back in Anchorage

Peter and I flew back to Anchorage on Friday - another epic travel day starting at 5:30 AM. We took the long way home: Honolulu to LA. LA to Seattle. Seattle to Anchorage. Eighteen hours later at 1:30 AM Anchorage time, we pulled into our driveway. Ugh…

LAX is definitely the worst large airport I’ve experienced. It’s outmoded - the buses from one terminal to another are ridiculous. You’re out there, on the tarmac, in your little bus playing in traffic with the big boys like 747’s and A300’s. The terminals are old and tired - at least, they do have Starbucks. But that’s about the best one can say. LAX is a crummy place to be marooned.

I basically spent the entire weekend in recovery mode. Well, that, and I was fully submersed in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. As I type, I have two hundred more pages to go - I should finish it up this evening. It is totally gripping and so far, I’m very satisfied with its progression. And that’s all I’ll say. No spoilers here.
