Henry II has New Cleats!!!!!!

Henry is so excited - he has new cleated shoes!!!!

As I mentioned earlier this week, winter has officially arrived. We’ve got about 8 inches of snow on the ground and the roads are totally snowy. Tuesday evening during rush hour, we had a mini-blizzard - two inches of snow in 30 minutes. As a result, the traffic was horrible - cars were stuck in the middle of hills, crazy drivers in jacked up Chevy Blazers spinning out, etc. Fortunately, that evening, I dropped Henry off at Muffler City where I purchased a brand new set of four, Arctic Ultimax studded tires.

I picked up Henry Wednesday morning and wow! The studded tires made a gigantic difference. It was if I was driving on dry pavement. No skidding, no sliding. Just a rock solid sure purchase.

For the past four years, I’ve been running Bridgestone Blizzak tires - a studless winter tire. They were o.k. at best. I got some traction but not enough. And I slid through countless intersections because Henry couldn’t stop on ice.

Prior to the Blizzaks, I’d run studs on all my other cars. And I have to say, my Blizzak experience reinforced what I already knew deep down, studs are an absolute must in Alaska in the winter.

Henry is very excited. He’s never had studs before. He feels much more comfortable tooling around on the snow and ice.
