Drowned Slat Rat - A Self Portrait
Talk about Ark weather. We arrived in Seattle late Friday night and it was not precipitating. However, starting Saturday morning it has either been snowing or pouring rain without a break. The inclement weather has not deterred us from shopping and putting tons of miles on our sneakers. However, today we’ve moved into flood weather - it’s an absolute deluge out there. At 8:15 AM, Peter headed off to Legal America’s Seattle branch. A few minutes later, I decided to zoom the half mile down to Pike Place Market for the world’s best cinnamon rolls and pumpkin cookies. Unfortunately, all of the hotel’s loaner umbrellas were already checked out. So, I did the mile round trip sans weather protection. By the time I made it to the Market, I was already a drowned slat rat. By the time I made it back up to the hotel, I was totally soggy, dripping and worthy of much comment from hotel guests.
I’m drying out now, but I think my jeans are probably shot for the remainder of the day. Which is a real bummer - they were heaviest pants I brought with me. Everything else is totally inadequate for the weather. Hmmm…maybe more shopping is required.
