An Alaska Early Morning

Mr. Poochini and I headed out the door at 6:00 AM for his morning constitutional. It was a whopping one degree above zero, the snow crunched as we made our down the hill, it was dark but the sky was clear and as we reached the lagoon we could see a broad curvilinear band of green Northern Lights on the northern horizon. Pretty darn nifty.

I always love this time of year. The cold, the dark that’s not so dark because of snow, and the crunchy snow sounds. It’s one of the few ways we have of connecting with the Sourdough Alaska of fifty years ago.
