Portland Work Week
I spent a very busy week in Portland coming up to speed on our latest project - which is a good thing since I’ve come to the project quite late. Everyone else has had five month head start.
As I said in an earlier post, Portland definitely has a different vibe. It does not feel like a big city - at least the Pioneer Square-Pearl District area that I’ve occupied for the past week doesn’t have that metropolitan feel to it. I think it’s because the streets are narrow - one-way, two lane streets seem to be the norm. And there are lots of mature trees. It reminds more of North Shore Chicago than a big city. Which is a good thing.
I stayed at the Heathman hotel which is an historic landmark - and also has a great restaurant and bar - always a plus!
I head home tonight to Da Ski Boy and Da Poochini. Yipeee!!!!!
This is the view from my hotel room window. It’s pretty funny - it’s clear that someone decided to dress up the prototypical grim-side-of-building view. That Peacock greeted me every morning.

Here are the restroom keys for the office commodes. The girls get the fish and the boys get the frog.
Hello. I am
If that view didn’t wake you up I don’t know what would.
