The Big Speech

Sarah’s big night is tonight. My guess is that she’s going to hit a home run with her speech. She speechifies well (although her voice can go a bit high) and she’s got the some of the best speechwriters in nation working on her speech. This is her big moment and I don’t think she’ll flop.

I’ve concluded one thing from the Sarah-mania that has gripped the nation since Friday morning - the conservatives and evangelical wing of the Republican party were desperate for a new face. I don’t think anyone, including the Republicans themselves, had any idea just how desperate they were. The media, with the ever hungry maw, is also ecstatic.

I’m conservative, but not right wing religious. I did not feel a deep burning need for a new face. Where are you getting that?

  2. Steph responds:

The religious right (which you’re not) are absolutely thrilled by her - she meets their requirements, plus she’s new, attractive, and speaks well. They haven’t had anything like this for a long time.
