Mt. Redoubt Comes Through
After two months of “Will She” or “Won’t She”, Mt. Redoubt finally erupted in a big way last night and early this morning. Unfortunately, the 60,000 foot ash cloud plumed during darkness so none of us got to see it.
sigh…
The ash cloud is going to miss Anchorage - which is a good thing. Volcanic Ash totally sucks - very very fine glass and rock grains with a high static electricity component. It sticks to everything. I hate cleaning up after a volcano. The process stretches into months.
For a good time, absolutely visit Mt. Redoubt’s Facebook Page. It is truly funny. Her current status is “booom”.
Here’s the seismograph readings from midnight through 8:00 AM this morning.

Hello. I am
I hear she popped again last night?
Actually Redoubt has been pretty much erupting and belching since the initial eruption. And it could continue for months.
