The Ice is Out!!!!!!

Wow!!!!

In three days the Lagoon went from ice bound - never ever going to melt - to post-ice. It moved fast! Record high temperatures definitely put the heat on.

So, who are are the winners???

That’s actually a tricky question. It’s not clear as to exactly when the ice reached “out” status. Was it late last night or early this morning? As a result, we’ll do what we did a few years ago: folks who picked May 2nd and folks who picked May 3rd will all be declared winners.

With that, our winners are:

  • Kim - May 2nd
  • Leland - May 2nd
  • Rick - May 2nd
  • Gordon - May 3rd
  • Sean - May 3rd

Those Amazon gift certificates will be winging their way to the winners this afternoon! Congratulations!

For everyone else, there is always next year!

I’m beginning to think I’m not very good at this.

  2. kim responds:

WOOHOO! And just two days ago I thought I should have picked May 11. Happy almost summer :)

  3. Steph responds:

Carol - it is really tough. You actually would have had an awesome chance at winning if we hadn’t had three record high temp days in a row. Ice just does not like to hang around when it’s almost 70 degrees. :-)

  4. Leland responds:

Woo-Hoo!!! And I rarely win anything like this! Thanks!

  5. Cory responds:

    Missed it by that much…..

  6. Gordon Jones responds:

Yippeee. Thanks for sponsoring yet another Classic ! A great Springtime ritual.

  7. Rick responds:

Super cool - I’m a two-time winner in only three years of doing this! :) Now, if only I could win our fantasy baseball league this often… :(

Thanks, as always, Steph - this is a fun contest each year!

  8. Leland responds:

Thank you Steph! I got it today.
