Glorious Stretch of Alaska Weather (and more puppy pictures)
Wow: we’re in the midst of a spectacular stretch of wonderful weather. This summer is heaven as compared to last summer’s hell. We’ve had temperatures in the 70’s and even the 80’s for the past week and a half. We even had a great July 4th - we can all remember multiple cold and rainy July 4ths spent huddled under tents in polartech fleece and rain gear with the temperature hovering around 40 degrees. Not this year! Bright sun and 75 degrees!!!! We basked in the sun at our annual Government Hill neighborhood July 4th barbeque and had great fun speculating about the reasons behind Sarah’s sudden resignation as Alaska’s governor.
Of course, with all the warm dry weather, Southcentral and Interior Alaska are inundated with wildfires. And where there’s fire, there’s smoke. Lots of it.
Anchorage has been hazy for several days and this morning, the sun was bright red:
We’ve been outside as much as possible and of course, much of that time has been spent poochy walking. Below are Peter, Tyge, and Echo late Friday night - still plenty of sunny daylight at 9:00 PM.

Early on the morning of July 4th, Tygey was in an especially good mood. He and Echo were snuggling and playing:

Hello. I am
Echo is getting big.
