Book Club with the Author: Bill Streever
The March selection for our book club was Cold by Bill Streever. Cold was a New York Times’ Notable Book for 2009 and Bill is an Alaskan and much of the book is set in Alaska.
How could we not read Cold. How could we not invite Bill??!!!!! And how could Peter and I not host??!!!!
It’s a very special book club event when the author attends. Our book club has been meeting monthly for twenty two years and this was the only third time we’ve had an author in attendance. Very nifty indeed!!!!
The turnout was large - the Partnow Manse dining room was packed to the gills. The conversation was great. We talked about the struggles of getting published, Bill’s next book, how he goes about writing (flowcharts!), revising, book agents, publishers, skiing, the North Slope, Alaska, and dogs. Fabulous evening.
